I was able to get this with my little Panasonic FX35 point and shoot. This is by far my favorite view of downtown KC, Hmmm, maybe because its also where I proposed to Jacque! KC is a great place to live! And an even better place to visit.
I’d recommend the Liberty Memorial Museum only 270ft below. It was finished in ’06 and is quite interesting to cruise through. It’s air conditioned and even has a gift shop (ladies). Gals may be interested in the museum for a while but guys will be interested for twice as long and eventually will feel the tug.
It is a beautiful space and they have managed to recreate several battle scenes.
There are two theaters that get you through all of the thick part of the war (the lead up to the war and the reason for American involvement). One of the theaters has a rather wide screen with a battlefield recreated below it. They manage to include all of the surroundings into the presentation. You can go to the top of the tower and see the museum for 10 bucks, or you can pay a little less for just the museum tour or the tower. I would recommend seeing both if you don’t have a fear of heights. Even if you feel a little queasy going up ladders, the top of the Liberty Memorial is pretty much enclosed. There is a five-foot wall that keeps you away from any danger. If you do feel like hurling there is an elevator that will take you back to mother earth lickety-split.
